What is this tool?
Converts written text into spoken audio using your browser's built-in speech synthesis, useful for proofreading by ear, accessibility, or just having text read aloud to you.
How to use it
Paste your text, choose a voice if more than one is available, and play the audio.
Hearing your own writing read aloud is a genuinely effective way to catch awkward phrasing that's easy to miss when just reading silently. The voices and languages available come entirely from your own device and browser, not from this site -- install additional language/voice packs in your operating system's accessibility or language settings to get more options here. Downloading the result as an audio file isn't possible with this approach: browsers deliberately don't expose the underlying audio stream from this API for privacy/security reasons, so there's no file to capture -- a genuine download would need a completely different (paid, cloud-based) text-to-speech service instead of this free, browser-only one.
