About Quote Generator
Creates a professional price quotation (estimate) with your business details, line items, discount, tax and shipping in the currency you choose, plus an "Accepted by" signature line, ready to send to a client as a PDF.
Enter your details and the client's, add the lines you are quoting with quantities and prices, set a currency, discount and tax, and give a "Valid until" date. Download the finished quotation as a PDF. Long quotes continue on extra pages. Names and notes in any language work, including accents and ₹.
A quote is an offer, not a bill: put an expiry date on it, say what is and is not included, and add your payment terms in the notes. When the client accepts, you can issue the invoice with the Invoice Generator using the same lines.
- What is the difference between a quote and an invoice?
- A quote offers a price before the work or sale. An invoice asks for payment after it. Use the same lines for both so the numbers match.
- Can I add tax and a discount?
- Yes. Enter a discount percentage and a tax percentage with a label such as VAT or GST. Both are applied in the totals.
- Can I use my own currency?
- Yes. Choose from the currency list; amounts are formatted for it, including symbols such as ₹ and €.
- Does a quote have to be signed?
- Not legally in every case, but an Accepted by line makes agreement clear. Tick the option to add it and the client can sign the PDF.
- Is anything saved or uploaded?
- No. The PDF is made in your browser and nothing you type leaves your device.
How to use Quote Generator
Enter your business details and the client's, add each item with a quantity and price, then set the currency, discount, tax and shipping. Add a valid-until date and your terms, and download the quotation as a PDF.
When to use it
Use it to send a client a price before work starts, to give a customer an estimate for goods, or to put a verbal price in writing with an expiry date.
When not to use it
A quote is an offer, not a bill, and it does not ask for payment. To bill for work already done, use Invoice Generator. It does not check whether your tax rate or terms are right for your country.
Tips for best results
State what is included and what is not, put an expiry date on the quote, and write your payment terms and any deposit in the notes. When the client accepts, issue the invoice with the same lines.
Limitations
The totals are calculated from what you type, rounded to two decimals, and nothing is saved between visits. Long quotes continue on extra pages. The PDF has no online accept button; the optional signature line is for signing on paper or in a PDF editor.
Privacy
The quotation is built in your browser. Nothing you type is uploaded or stored.
