About Pay Stub Generator
Makes a clear pay stub with earnings, deductions, net pay and an optional year-to-date line, as a Word or PDF file.
This is a record-keeping document. It does not calculate tax, run payroll, or file anything. Check amounts with your payroll provider or accountant. Do not use a made-up stub for a loan or rental application.
Enter the pay period, the rate and hours, then the tax rates and deductions you actually withhold. Preview and download.
Type the rates your payroll provider uses. The stub adds up what you enter, so check the net pay against your own payroll before you hand it out.
- Does the pay stub calculate my taxes?
- No. You type the rate for each tax and the tool applies it to gross pay. Use your payroll provider's figures, because real withholding uses brackets and limits.
- Can I use this stub for a loan or rental application?
- No. A stub is a record of pay that was actually paid. Showing a stub for pay that was not paid is fraud.
How to use Pay Stub Generator
Enter the employer, the employee, the pay period and pay date. Choose hourly or salary, then type the rate and hours. Type the tax rates and deductions your payroll uses. Preview and download Word or PDF.
When to use it
Use it for a small employer or household employer who needs a clear record of one pay period, or for a person who needs a copy of a stub for their own records.
When not to use it
It does not run payroll, look up tax tables, or file or pay any tax. Do not use it to make a stub for a loan, a lease or any application: a document that shows pay that was not paid is fraud.
Tips for best results
Check the net pay against your payroll provider before you hand a stub out. Add the earlier gross pay for the year to get a year-to-date line.
Limitations
Tax is a percentage you type, applied to gross pay. Real payroll uses brackets, limits and allowances that this tool does not know. Overtime is hours times rate times the multiplier you set.
Privacy
Names, rates and amounts are used only in your browser to build the document. Nothing is sent or stored.
