About Remove PDF Pages
Deletes the pages you choose from a PDF and gives you the rest as a new file, in the original order. Bookmarks that point at the pages you keep and form fields on them are kept. Everything happens in your browser.
Drop a PDF. Click the pages you want removed (they get a red cross), or type them as a list such as 2, 5-7. Odd, even and clear buttons help with big files. Click Remove pages, check the preview and download.
Your original is never changed, so you can try again. If you would rather list the pages to keep, use Extract Pages & Text instead. You cannot remove every page: at least one must stay.
- Does removing pages change the other pages?
- No. The pages you keep are copied as they are, in the same order, with the same size, text and images.
- Can I remove several ranges at once?
- Yes. Type them separated by commas, for example 1, 4-6, 10. You can mix clicking on thumbnails with typing; both stay in step.
- Can I remove every page?
- No, at least one page must remain. If you want an empty result there is nothing to build, so the tool stops and tells you.
- Is the removed content really gone from the file?
- The removed pages are not in the new file. This is a page-removal tool, not a redaction tool: it does not clean information that is stored elsewhere in the document, such as the title or file properties.
- What if my PDF is password protected?
- Unlock it first with Unlock PDF, then remove the pages. A protected or damaged file may not open here and the tool tells you.
How to use Remove PDF Pages
Drop a PDF and wait for the page thumbnails. Click each page you want to remove (it fades and gets a red cross), or type the pages in the box, for example 2, 5-7. The Odd and Even buttons select every other page and Clear starts again. Click Remove pages, look at the preview and download the result.
When to use it
Use it to drop blank pages from a scan, take out a cover sheet or an ad page, remove pages with private details before sharing, or shorten a long report to what the reader needs.
When not to use it
If it is easier to say which pages to keep, Extract Pages & Text does the opposite job. To cut a file into several files use Split PDF, and to reorder or rotate pages use Organize PDF. A password-protected file must be unlocked first.
Tips for best results
For a long document, type ranges instead of clicking. Check the preview before downloading: the result keeps the original order. If page numbers printed on the pages should be renumbered afterwards, run Add Page Numbers on the new file.
Limitations
At least one page must stay in the file. Page numbers outside the document, or ranges written backwards, are rejected with a message. Bookmarks that point to pages you keep and form fields on those pages are kept; bookmarks that point only to removed pages disappear. Removing a page does not clean text hidden elsewhere in the file, so use Redact PDF for real redaction.
Privacy
The pages are processed in your browser and the file is not uploaded. The new PDF stays in memory until you download it and is gone when you close the page.
