About Proposal Builder
Builds a client proposal with summary, scope, what is not included, timeline, prices with a total, payment terms and a signature block.
A proposal is a business document, not legal advice. For large projects have a lawyer review the terms.
Fill in the client and the work, one item per line. Prices are read from the end of each line and added up. Preview, then download Word or PDF.
List what is NOT included as well as what is. It is the cheapest way to avoid scope arguments.
- How are the prices added up?
- The tool reads the number at the end of each price line, such as Design: $1,200, and adds them into the total.
- Is a proposal legally binding?
- A signed proposal can create an agreement, but it is not a full contract. For large projects have a lawyer review the terms.
How to use Proposal Builder
Enter you and the client, then a short summary, the scope of work one item per line, and what is not included. Add deliverables, a timeline, and prices one per line with the amount at the end. Preview, then download.
When to use it
Use it when a client asks what you will do and what it costs, before any contract. It turns a few notes into a document with scope, timeline, total price, payment terms and a place to sign.
When not to use it
It is not a contract. For large or risky work have a lawyer review the terms, or use the Contract Templates tool for a service agreement.
Tips for best results
List what is not included as carefully as what is. State the validity period, so an old price cannot come back months later.
Limitations
The structure is fixed: summary, scope, not included, deliverables, timeline, investment, payment terms and acceptance. Prices are read from the number at the end of each line and added up. There is no tax, discount or currency setting.
