About Excel to PowerPoint
Turns the tables in an Excel workbook (.xlsx, .xls or CSV) into PowerPoint table slides. Each sheet becomes a series of slides, the header row is repeated on every slide, and you choose which sheets, how many rows per slide and how many columns to show. Hidden sheets, rows and columns are left out. You get the outline as text that you can edit before the slides are made.
Cells are written as the text Excel displays, not as live links, so the tables will not update if the workbook changes. Charts, pictures, colours, merged-cell layouts and formulas' formatting are not carried over, and very wide sheets are cut to the first columns you allow: a slide cannot show more than a handful of columns readably. If you want a chart, copy it from Excel into PowerPoint. Rows that do not fit on one slide continue on the next with the header repeated.
- How are large sheets handled?
- Rows are split over several slides and the header row is repeated on each one. You choose the rows per slide and the most columns shown. Very wide sheets are cut to the first columns because a slide cannot show more readably.
- Are hidden sheets, rows and columns included?
- No. They are left out, as are charts, pictures and cell colours.
- Are the tables linked to the workbook?
- No. Cells are written as the text Excel displays, so the slides do not update if the workbook changes.
- Which files work?
- .xlsx, .xls and CSV, up to 25 MB.
How to use Excel to PowerPoint
Drop your workbook. Tick the sheets to include, choose rows per slide, the most columns, and whether the first row is a header. Edit the outline on the left if you like, pick a look, and check the slides on the right. Download when it looks right.
When to use it
Useful for monthly figures, price lists, rosters and results that must be shown as tables in a deck without retyping them.
When not to use it
If you want a chart, copy it from Excel into PowerPoint. If the sheet has hundreds of rows, a slide deck is the wrong place for it; share the sheet instead.
Tips for best results
Put a clear header in row 1. Keep to six columns or fewer. Hide or delete helper columns in Excel first. Round figures in Excel so the slide shows what you mean.
Limitations
Values only, as displayed. No charts, pictures, colours or formulas. Wide sheets are cut to the first columns. Up to 100 slides. The result has not been checked in desktop PowerPoint.
Privacy
The workbook is read and the presentation is built inside your browser tab. Nothing is uploaded. A request that counts the use goes to this site when you download and carries no part of your file.
