About Blind CV Redactor
Strips the details that identify a candidate or invite bias from resume text: name, email, phone, links, street address, birth date and age, lines such as marital status or nationality, gender words, and optionally years. What is left is skills and experience, so a first review can focus on those. It runs in your browser, so the resume is not uploaded.
Paste the resume text or drop a PDF that has real text. Type the candidate's name so every mention is removed, add any other terms such as a school or hometown, and choose what to remove. Check the result, then copy or download it.
Read the result before you share it. Patterns catch common formats, not everything: a nickname, a photo caption or a small town can still point to a person, so add those as extra terms. Removing years is optional because it also hides how recent the experience is.
- What does it remove?
- The candidate's name, email addresses, phone numbers, links and profiles, street addresses, birth dates and age, lines such as marital status or nationality, and gender words. Years can be removed too if you tick that box.
- Is the resume uploaded?
- No. The text is processed in your browser and is gone when you close the page.
- Will it catch everything?
- No. It finds common formats. Add nicknames, schools, hometowns or club names as extra terms and read the result before you share it.
How to use Blind CV Redactor
Paste the resume text or drop a PDF that has real text. Type the candidate's name, or use the suggestion taken from the top of the resume, and add other terms such as a school or hometown, one per line. Tick what to remove, read the result, then copy it or download it as a text file.
When to use it
Use it before a first screening round, a hiring panel review or a shared shortlist, whenever you want people to judge skills and experience before they see who the candidate is.
When not to use it
It does not check legal compliance and does not decide who to hire. It works on text only, so photos, logos and layout are not carried over.
Tips for best results
Run it, then read the result once as if you had never seen the person. Anything that still points to who they are goes into the extra terms box. Leave years unticked unless graduation dates are the concern.
Limitations
Patterns catch common formats of emails, phone numbers, links, street addresses and dates. Nicknames, small towns, club names and photo captions need to be added as extra terms. Gender words are removed from the whole text, which can change the meaning of a sentence slightly.
Privacy
The resume stays in your browser tab and is not sent to a server. It is cleared when you close the page.
