About Online Timer
A free online countdown timer with one-click presets for 1, 5, 10 and 20 minutes, a custom time, and a Pomodoro mode that alternates 25-minute focus rounds with short and long breaks. It needs no sign-up and nothing is sent anywhere.
Tap a preset or type a time such as 7, 7:30 or 1:05:00, then press Start. Switch to Pomodoro for study or work rounds. Use Full screen for a big display, or Pop out to float a small timer above your other windows in browsers that support it. The time also shows in the browser tab title.
The timer works from the clock, so it stays correct if the tab is in the background. Allow sound by pressing Start once; then it beeps when time is up.
- Do I need to sign up to use the timer?
- No. Open the page, tap a preset such as 10 minutes and press Start. Nothing is sent anywhere and nothing is saved.
- How do I set a custom time?
- Type it in the custom box as minutes (7), minutes and seconds (7:30) or hours, minutes and seconds (1:05:00). The clock updates at once.
- What is Pomodoro mode?
- It alternates focus rounds with breaks: 25 minutes of work, a 5 minute break, and a longer 15 minute break after four rounds. You can change every length, and it moves to the next round by itself.
- Can I keep the timer visible while I work in another window?
- In Chrome and Edge, Pop out opens a small floating timer that stays above your other windows. In other browsers, the remaining time also shows in the browser tab title.
- Will it still ring if the tab is in the background?
- It works from the clock, so the time is always right when you look. Press Start once so the browser allows sound, and keep the tab open.
How to use Online Timer
Tap a preset (1, 5, 10 or 20 minutes and more) or type your own time, then press Start. Switch to Pomodoro to alternate focus rounds and breaks. Use Full screen for a big display, or Pop out for a small floating timer.
When to use it
Use it for cooking, workouts, study blocks, meetings, breaks, games and any time you need a quick countdown without installing an app.
When not to use it
It is one timer at a time and does not run if the tab is closed. For a speaker countdown with warnings use the Focus and Stage Timer.
Tips for best results
Press Start once before walking away so the browser allows the end sound, and keep the device awake.
Limitations
Sound needs the browser to allow audio after you have tapped the page. Floating pop-out works only in browsers that support it, such as Chrome and Edge.
Privacy
Nothing is sent anywhere. The timer runs entirely in your browser.
