About Schema Markup Generator
Generates JSON-LD structured data (schema markup) for Article, Product, FAQ, LocalBusiness, and Recipe content types, which helps search engines understand and potentially display richer results for a page.
Choose the schema type that matches your content, fill in the relevant fields, and copy the generated script tag into your page.
Structured data helps search engines understand a page, but it does not guarantee any special result listing, and FAQ listings in particular are limited by Google to certain sites. If a page already has a natural FAQ section, adding matching schema markup is one of the higher-leverage quick wins here.

- Which schema type is the highest-leverage one to add?
- FAQ schema in particular can make a page eligible for expanded search result listings — if a page already has a natural FAQ section, adding matching schema markup is one of the higher-leverage quick wins here.
- Which schema types can I generate?
- Five: Article, Product, FAQ Page, Local Business and Recipe. Each has its own fields. Article offers an author type of Person or Organization, and FAQ Page lets you add or remove question and answer rows.
- Why is Copy as Script Tag greyed out?
- A required field for the chosen type is empty, and an amber message says so. Fill in the headline and author, product name and price, one full question and answer, business name and address, or recipe name, ingredients and instructions.
- What choices does the Product type give for availability and ratings?
- Availability can be In Stock, Out of Stock or Pre-Order. The rating block is added only when both Rating and Review Count have values; clear either one to leave it out, which you should do if you have no genuine reviews.
- How is Recipe totalTime worked out?
- The tool adds your Prep Time and Cook Time. It reads durations written as hours and minutes after PT, such as PT1H30M, and writes the sum in the same style. A value in any other format counts as zero minutes.
- Where do I put the script tag, and will it give me rich results?
- Paste it into the HTML of the page the data describes, in the head or body. Whether a search engine shows an enhanced listing is its own decision; check the live page with a rich results or schema testing tool.
How to use Schema Markup Generator
Pick a type from the Schema Type menu: Article, Product, FAQ Page, Local Business or Recipe. The form beside the Generated JSON-LD box changes to match, and the JSON updates as you type. Replace every sample value first, because each form starts filled with example data.
Complete the fields and watch the amber notes. One lists optional fields Google recommends, such as publisher, dateModified and image for an Article. Another appears when required fields are empty, and then Copy as Script Tag is disabled. Required are headline and author; product name plus a price value; at least one complete question and answer pair; business name and address; or recipe name with ingredients and instructions. When the button is active it copies the JSON inside a script tag of type application/ld+json, ready to paste into your page's HTML.
When to use it
Use it when you have a finished page and want matching structured data without writing JSON by hand, such as a recipe post with times and steps, a shop's contact page, a product page, or a help page with several questions and answers. It is also a quick way to see how the same details map onto schema.org property names.
When not to use it
Do not publish markup that describes things not visible on the page; search engines expect structured data to match what visitors can see. Leave out the Product rating fields unless you hold genuine reviews. For a business with opening hours, coordinates, several locations or a more specific business type, this generator is too narrow, and a fuller schema editor or your CMS plugin fits better.
Tips for best results
The Recipe form calculates totalTime by adding your prep and cook values, so enter them in the PT15M or PT1H30M style the labels show. Use Add Question for as many FAQ pairs as the page really contains; rows with an empty question or answer are left out of the output. For an Article, set Author is a to Organization when a company, not a person, wrote it.
Limitations
The output covers only the properties in these forms. The business address is a single plain text string rather than a structured postal address, Product has no image, brand or SKU, and price and rating values are written as text. Text containing a closing script tag is not escaped. Nothing is validated, so test the copied markup with a rich results or schema validator on your live page.
Privacy
The JSON is assembled from your form fields by code in your browser tab, and the copy action writes it straight to your clipboard. What you type, such as a business address or phone number, is not uploaded. Pressing Copy as Script Tag makes the site record the tool name and a device identifier for usage counting, and nothing from the form.
