About Meme Generator
Adds custom top and bottom text to an image in the classic meme format, with text sizing and positioning handled automatically.
Upload your image, enter your top and bottom text, and download the finished meme.
This works with static images (JPG, PNG, etc.) — video and GIF meme support (adding text to a moving file) is a genuinely different, bigger undertaking and isn't available here yet, though a fuller video-meme flow may come later. Long text wraps onto up to three lines and shrinks to fit. On a trial use the small “Created with FreeDailyPro.com” badge sits in the top-right and bottom-right corners, so the captions are kept a little away from the top and bottom edges to stay clear of it. Keep meme text short anyway — the classic format works because it's quick to read at a glance, and long paragraphs of text tend to undercut the format rather than fit into it.

- Does this work with video or GIF files?
- Not currently — this works with static images (JPG, PNG, etc.). Adding text to a moving video or GIF is a genuinely different, bigger undertaking and isn't available here yet.
- Does the meme generator include template images?
- No. There are no bundled or downloaded templates, so you upload the picture you want to caption. That could be a photo you took, a screenshot or an image you have the right to use. Only the lettering font is fetched from outside.
- Which font does the text use?
- Anton, loaded from Google Fonts when the page opens, because the classic Impact face is missing on most phones. If Anton cannot load, the canvas falls back to Impact, Arial Black or a plain sans-serif font, so the look may differ slightly.
- Can I change the text colour or move the text?
- No. The lettering is always white with a black outline, centred, with the top text hugging the upper edge and the bottom text the lower edge. The only adjustments are the words themselves, which shrink and wrap automatically to fit.
- What file do I get and how big is it?
- A PNG called meme.png, drawn at the same width and height as the image you uploaded. A large photo therefore gives a large file. If you need a smaller one, shrink the picture with a resize tool before adding text.
- Can I make a meme from a GIF or a video?
- Not as a moving file. The tool draws your upload onto a single still canvas, so you receive a still PNG. A video or animated GIF caption needs a video editor, which can keep the motion.
How to use Meme Generator
Drop an image onto the page; any picture your browser can open will do. The preview appears with two boxes underneath, Top Text and Bottom Text, which start filled with TOP TEXT and BOTTOM TEXT. Replace them with your own words, and the picture updates as you type.
Whatever case you type is turned into capitals, drawn in white with a black outline, and shrunk and wrapped so it fits the picture, up to three lines per box. Empty a box if you want a single caption. When it looks right, press Download Meme to save meme.png, or press Clear to throw the picture away and start again with another one.
When to use it
It suits a joke about your own photo, a reaction image for a group chat, a caption on a screenshot, a classroom or team-meeting gag, or a quick birthday card built from a favourite snapshot. Because the image keeps its original pixel size, the result also works as a full-size post or an attachment.
When not to use it
There is no library of ready-made meme pictures here, so you must bring the image yourself. Text can only sit along the top and bottom edges, in one fixed style. If you want movable captions, stickers, colours, animation or video, a general image or video editor is the better choice, since GIFs are not animated by this tool.
Tips for best results
Crop the picture tightly before you upload it, because the text always lands at the top and bottom edges and can cover faces or detail near them. Wider pictures give larger lettering, since the starting size is tied to the image width. Short lines read best: long text shrinks toward a minimum size. You can type in lowercase, as everything is capitalised for you.
Limitations
There is one block of text at the top and one at the bottom, each wrapping to a maximum of three lines. Font, colour, outline and position cannot be changed. The result is always a PNG at the same pixel size as your image, so a very large photo makes a large file. An animated GIF is treated as a single still picture.
Privacy
Your picture is opened through a temporary address inside your browser and drawn on a canvas there, so the image and your wording are never uploaded. No template pictures are bundled or fetched. The one outside request is a stylesheet from Google Fonts for the Anton typeface; it carries neither your image nor your text, and Impact is the fallback if it is blocked.
