About Hashtag Generator
Generates relevant hashtags for a piece of content or topic, useful for social media posts where hashtags help with discoverability.
Enter your topic or keywords and press Generate. Suggestions are built from your own words (CamelCase so they read well, and so screen readers can speak them) with c++, c#, f# and .net spelled out. Some suggestions add common endings such as Tips, Life or Lovers. Copy the ones that fit your post.
A smaller set of specific, relevant hashtags generally performs better than a large block of generic ones — quality and relevance matter more than sheer quantity on most platforms.
Watch: Hashtag Generator in Action
- Is it better to use more hashtags or fewer?
- A smaller set of specific, relevant hashtags generally performs better than a large block of generic ones — quality and relevance matter more than sheer quantity on most platforms.
- Does it find trending hashtags?
- No, it does not look anything up. Every tag is built from the words you typed, plus the endings Tips, Life, Daily, Community, Lovers, Ideas and Inspiration attached to your first key word. Check the tags inside the platform to see whether people are actually using them.
- Why are some of my words missing from the tags?
- Common filler words such as the, and, of, for and your are removed first, so they do not become tags on their own. If your whole topic consists of such words, they are all kept so you still get a result.
- How are names like C++ handled?
- The tool rewrites c++, c#, f# and .net as cplusplus, csharp, fsharp and dotnet before building tags, since symbols cannot appear in a hashtag. A plain plus sign elsewhere is dropped, and an ampersand becomes the word and, which is then treated as a filler word.
- Why do I only get a few tags?
- Pair tags need at least two key words and the list is capped at 15. A one-word topic gives about eight tags and a two-word topic about ten. Add more descriptive words to the topic to unlock more combinations.
- Do words in other languages work?
- Letters and digits from most scripts are kept, so accented and non-Latin words come through unchanged. The filler-word list is English only, so words in other languages are never skipped, and capital letters only show up in alphabets that have them.
How to use Hashtag Generator
Type a topic or a few keywords into Topic or keyword, such as travel photography or c# tutorials, and press Generate. Up to 15 hashtags appear as badges. The first joins all your key words in CamelCase, followed by each key word on its own, then pairs of neighbouring words, then the first word combined with the endings Tips, Life, Daily, Community, Lovers, Ideas and Inspiration.
Press Copy All to put the whole set on your clipboard, separated by spaces, then delete the ones that do not fit your post before you publish. Filler words like the, for and of are skipped, and names such as C++, C#, F# and .NET are written out as words so the tag stays valid.
When to use it
Reach for it when you are about to post and have a topic but no tags, or when you want tags that mirror your own wording instead of a pasted block of unrelated ones. It is also handy for turning a multi-word product or event name into a readable CamelCase tag, and for checking that a name with accents or non-Latin letters stays intact.
When not to use it
Do not expect it to tell you which hashtags are popular, banned or active right now, because it only rearranges your words and adds a fixed list of endings. To judge reach, search the hashtag inside the platform and look at recent posts. It is also a poor fit if you need tags in a particular community's jargon, since it cannot know that.
Tips for best results
Short topics give short lists: a one-word topic returns about eight tags, because pairs need at least two words. Add a second descriptive word to get combined tags. Delete the ending-based tags such as Lovers or Community if they sound odd for your subject, and keep only the handful that describe the post. The capital letters inside each tag are kept so screen readers can speak each word.
Limitations
Output is capped at 15 tags and is built only from the words you type plus seven fixed endings, so some suggestions can read awkwardly. Filler words are dropped, which means a topic made only of filler words falls back to using all of them. Tags need at least two characters. Punctuation and emoji are removed and words split at apostrophes. Nothing checks a platform's hashtag rules or limits.
Privacy
The hashtags are built by a short routine running in your browser, so the topic you enter is never uploaded and is not stored on your device. The site may record that the Generate button was used so daily use can be counted, with a device identifier but without your words. Copy All sends the list only to your own clipboard.
