About Event Checklist & Timeline Planner
A checklist for planning an event. Start from a ready-made timeline (wedding, birthday, corporate event, conference, exhibition or fundraiser) counted back from your event date, then add your own tasks, give each an owner and a due date, and tick them off.
Choose an event type and date and press 'Add these tasks'. Edit any task, add your own, filter by owner or by what is overdue, and move every date if the event date changes. Download Excel or CSV, copy the list as text, or import tasks from a CSV.
Lock in the tasks furthest out first (venue, key vendors, save-the-dates); they have the least room if you are late. Give every task an owner so nothing is 'someone's job'. Save the project file to keep the list.

- Which event types have a ready-made timeline?
- Wedding, birthday, corporate event, conference, exhibition or trade show, and fundraiser. Each lists the main tasks and counts back from your event date to give every task a due date. Pressing Add these tasks again does not duplicate tasks already on your list.
- Can I add my own tasks and change the dates?
- Yes. Type a task and press Enter, then edit its title, due date or owner in place. Tick a task when it is done. If the event date moves, enter the number of days and press Move dates to shift every dated task together.
- What counts as overdue or due soon?
- A task that is not ticked and has a due date before today is overdue. Due soon means today or within the next seven days. Tasks with no date are never overdue, and done tasks drop to the bottom of the list.
- Can I assign tasks to people?
- Yes. Type a name in the Owner box. Once owners exist, a menu appears so you can show one person's tasks. There are no emails or reminders sent; share the downloaded list or the text instead.
- How do I get my checklist out, or in?
- Copy it as text, or download Excel or CSV. To bring tasks in from a spreadsheet, download the blank CSV, fill in Task, Due (year-month-day), Done and Owner, and use Import CSV. Rows with a problem are skipped and listed.
- Will my checklist be here next time?
- Only for this visit unless you save the project file. The tasks live in your project with the rest of your event data and are erased when you close the tab. Nothing is sent to a server.
