About Event Budget Planner
Plan what each part of your event should cost, then record what you actually spend and see at once where you are over or under. Spending is entered as expenses, so the same entries feed the other event tools in your project. Works in any currency.
Set the currency, then add a planned amount for each category (or split a total across a typical event). Add expenses as they happen with a category that matches a plan line. The table shows planned, spent and what is left, and flags anything over. Download Excel or CSV when you need to share it.
Record spending as deposits and payments happen, not at the end. Keep a contingency line: unplanned costs almost always appear. Category names are matched ignoring capital letters, so 'Venue' and 'venue' count as one.

- Which currencies does it support?
- Any of the currencies in the menu, such as US dollars, euros, pounds, rupees and yen. Amounts are shown in your choice using your language's number format. Changing the currency relabels your amounts; it does not convert them. Items entered in a different currency are left out of the totals and flagged.
- Where does 'Spent so far' come from?
- From the expenses you record in this tool, which are saved in your project with the rest of your event data. Each expense is matched to a planned line by its category name, ignoring capital letters and extra spaces. Costs count with tax included.
- What does 'Add typical categories' do?
- You enter a total and pick an event type, and it adds a rule-of-thumb split of that total (venue, catering, contingency and so on) that adds up exactly to your total. The shares are a starting point; edit any amount afterwards.
- Why does it say money was spent in categories with no planned amount?
- You recorded an expense with a category that has no budget line, or with no category at all. Press the Plan button next to it to give that category a planned amount, or fix the category on the expense.
- How do I get the budget out, or in?
- Download Excel for a Budget sheet (planned, spent, left, percent used) and an Expenses sheet, or download one CSV with planned, spent and remaining per category plus every expense (importing it again restores both). To bring planned amounts in from a spreadsheet, download the blank CSV, fill in Category and Planned, and use Import budget CSV.
- Will my budget be here next time?
- Only for this visit unless you save the project file. It is kept in your project with your other event data and erased when you close the tab. Nothing is sent to a server.
