About Watermark PowerPoint
Stamps a text or picture watermark (DRAFT, CONFIDENTIAL, a logo) on the slides of a PowerPoint presentation (.pptx). Choose the text, colour, size, angle and how see-through it is, or use a PNG or JPEG picture. Place it in the middle or in a corner, behind the slide content or on top of it, on every slide or only the ones you pick. There is also a switch to take the watermarks made by this tool off again.
The watermark is a normal shape on each slide, named "Watermark", so anyone can select and delete it in PowerPoint: it marks a file, it does not protect it. It is added to the slides themselves and not to the slide master, so slides you add later will not have one. Behind the content, it can be hidden by a slide's full-page picture or a solid background shape; use "On top of the content" for those slides. The preview here may draw see-through and rotated shapes a little differently from PowerPoint. Old .ppt files: open them in PowerPoint and save as .pptx first.
- Does a watermark protect the deck from copying?
- No. It is an ordinary shape on each slide, named Watermark, that anyone can select and delete in PowerPoint. It marks a file; it does not protect it.
- Can I use my logo?
- Yes. Choose Picture and select a PNG or JPEG. Set its width, opacity and position. The picture stays on your computer.
- Behind the content or on top?
- Behind keeps the slide readable, but a full-page picture or solid shape on a slide can hide it. On top is always visible. You can choose all slides or a list such as 1, 3, 5-7.
- Can I remove it later?
- Yes. Remove watermarks takes off the watermarks made by this tool. Watermarks made by other programs, or placed on the slide master, are not touched.
How to use Watermark PowerPoint
Drop your .pptx and choose Text or Picture. For text, type the words and pick the font, colour, size or Fit to slide, opacity and angle. For a picture, choose a PNG or JPEG and its width. Pick the position, whether it sits behind or on top, and which slides get it. The preview shows the result beside your original.
When to use it
Useful for marking a deck as a draft or confidential before circulation, for putting a logo or a company name on slides sent to clients, or for labelling a version such as Review copy.
When not to use it
If you need to stop people copying or editing the content, a watermark does not do that. Use PDF export with a password for that, or a rights-management system.
Tips for best results
30 percent opacity and a 45 degree angle is the classic look. Use On top for slides with full-page pictures. Check one dark slide and one light slide in the preview.
Limitations
Added to the slides, not to the master, so slides added later have none. The preview may draw see-through and rotated shapes slightly differently from PowerPoint. The result has not been checked in desktop PowerPoint.
Privacy
The deck and any picture are read inside your browser tab and are not uploaded. A request that counts the use goes to this site when you download and carries no part of your file.
