About PowerPoint to Video
Turns a PowerPoint presentation (.pptx) into a video file (MP4) that plays anywhere: phones, TVs, YouTube, WhatsApp, a lobby screen. Each slide is shown as a still picture for the time you choose, and you can add a music track. There is no voice-over and animations are not recorded: a slide is one picture for its time.
Five seconds a slide suits slides with a few lines; give busy slides more time using the box next to each slide. 720p is enough for most uses; 1080p makes the text sharper and the file larger. Music is cut or looped to fit and fades out at the end. Long decks take a while because every slide is drawn and encoded in your browser tab; keep the tab open. SmartArt, 3D effects, animations, transitions and embedded video are not in the result.
- Is there narration?
- No. Each slide is a still picture shown for the time you choose, with an optional music track. Speaker notes are not read out and animations are not recorded.
- How long can the video be?
- Up to 20 minutes. Long decks take a while because every slide is drawn and encoded in your browser tab.
- What video do I get?
- An MP4 (H.264), at 480p, 720p or 1080p, with a fade in and out if you want one. It plays on phones, TVs, YouTube and most chat apps.
- Can it use the timings saved in my deck?
- Yes. If slides have an automatic advance time, tick Use the times saved in the deck. Slides without a time get the default.
- Is anything uploaded?
- No. The deck and the music are processed in your browser with the same open-source engine the site's video tools use. The first run downloads that engine (about 25 MB).
How to use PowerPoint to Video
Drop your .pptx, choose the size and the seconds per slide, and optionally add a music file. Press Make the video, watch it, and download it.
When to use it
Useful for putting a deck on YouTube or a social feed, a loop for a screen in a lobby or at a stand, or sending a presentation people can play on a phone.
When not to use it
If you need voice-over, animation or transitions recorded, use PowerPoint's own Export, Create a Video. For a short loop to paste in a chat, use PowerPoint to GIF.
Tips for best results
Five seconds a slide suits a few lines of text; give busy slides longer in the per-slide box. Use music you have the right to use. Keep the tab open until it finishes.
Limitations
Each slide is a still picture for its time. There is no narration, and animations, transitions and embedded video are not in the result. The longest video is 20 minutes. Fonts the browser does not have are replaced by a close match. The engine downloads about 25 MB the first time.
Privacy
The deck and the music are processed inside your browser tab and are not uploaded. A request that counts the use goes to this site when you download and carries none of your content.
