Print PDF
1200 × 300 px printed 24 in wide = 50 DPI — below 150 DPI will look soft in print; pick a larger size above or a smaller finished width.
For custom illustrated or photo-based ad artwork (not just text + color), that needs a separate illustration or photo editor — this tool covers text-and-color banners, signs, and posters.
About Banner & Sign Maker
Designs web banners, storefront signs, and posters at any custom pixel size, with size presets for common use cases — including an optional background photo and logo/image overlay — exporting as a real PNG image file.
Choose a size preset or enter custom dimensions, add your heading, subheading, and optional footer text, pick a color scheme or upload a background photo, optionally add a logo or image, and download the finished banner as a PNG.
This covers text-and-color banner design well, with real support for a background photo and a logo/image overlay — for a design built entirely from custom illustration rather than a photo or logo you already have, that needs an illustration or photo editor, which is a different kind of tool. Pixel dimensions are exact, and the Print PDF section shows the DPI you'll get at the finished width you enter and can add 0.125" bleed for the print shop.

- Can this create a banner with a custom photo or logo?
- Yes — upload a background photo and/or a separate logo/image, and both get placed directly into the banner alongside your text. A design built entirely from custom illustration (rather than a photo or logo you already have) is a different kind of tool, one that needs AI image generation.
- Can I change the font?
- Yes — choose from a small set of genuinely distinct fonts (a default sans-serif, a serif option, a wider sans-serif, and a rounded display face), applied to all the text on the banner.
- Is there a preset for a YouTube channel banner specifically?
- Yes — 2560×1440, YouTube's own required channel art dimensions, alongside the existing YouTube Thumbnail preset (1280×720) for video thumbnails specifically.
- Can I set an exact print size in inches, not just pixels?
- Not directly — dimensions are set in pixels only, with no DPI concept. For something meant to be printed at a specific physical size, check with your print shop about the pixel dimensions they need at their intended DPI, since pixels and inches aren't the same thing without a DPI target connecting them.
- Can I set completely custom dimensions instead of using a preset?
- Yes — enter any width and height in pixels directly, not just the listed presets.
- Are my uploaded photos or logos sent to a server?
- No — the background photo, logo, and the final banner rendering all happen entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded anywhere.
- What file format does the banner download as?
- PNG — a real image file, not a screenshot or a low-resolution preview.
- Can I remove or replace a background photo or logo after adding it?
- Yes — an X button appears on each once uploaded, letting you remove it and upload a different one without starting the whole banner over.
- Which presets are there and what sizes are they?
- Web Banner 1200x300, Social Post 1080x1080, Storefront Sign 1200x800, Large Poster 1000x1400, Instagram Story 1080x1920, YouTube Thumbnail 1280x720, YouTube Channel Banner 2560x1440, Facebook Cover 851x315, X Post 1200x675, LinkedIn Post 1200x627, Yard Sign 3600x2700 and Flyer (A4) 1240x1754, all in pixels.
- What does the DPI line mean?
- It divides the banner's pixel width by the finished width you typed. Below 150 it turns amber and warns the print will look soft, from 150 up it says the size suits large signs seen from a distance, and at 300 or more it reads print quality. The Yard Sign preset at 24 inches comes to 150.
- What does the bleed checkbox do?
- Ticked, the PDF page is the finished size plus 0.125 inch on every side, with the edges of the design stretched into that margin so no white sliver appears after cutting. Unticked, the page is the exact finished size. Keep important text well inside either way.
- Can I use my own font?
- No. The Font menu offers only Arial, Georgia, Verdana and Trebuchet, which are read from your device. If you need a special typeface for a logo-style heading, add it to the Logo / Image upload as a picture instead.
- Why does my photo look tinted?
- When a Background Photo is present, the colour gradient is drawn over it at 55 percent opacity so the white text stays readable. Choose a darker gradient swatch for more contrast, or a lighter photo with quiet areas behind the words.
How to use Banner & Sign Maker
Choose a Size Preset such as Web Banner, Storefront Sign, Yard Sign (24x18in) or Flyer (A4), or overwrite the Width (px) and Height (px) boxes with your own numbers; each side is at least 100 pixels. Type the Heading, Subheading and an optional Footer, then pick one of six gradient swatches and a Font: Arial, Georgia, Verdana or Trebuchet.
A Background Photo can sit under a semi-transparent gradient, and a Logo / Image is placed in the centre near the top. 'Add Point' adds bullet lines beneath the subheading. 'Download PNG' saves the banner at exactly the pixel size entered.
For paper or vinyl, use the Print PDF box: enter the Finished width (in), tick or untick the 0.125 inch bleed box, read the DPI line and press 'Download print PDF'.
When to use it
Pick it for a shop-window notice, a sale poster, a yard sign, a social media graphic, an event banner or a video thumbnail where bold text on a colour field is exactly what you need. Because you set the pixel size and the finished print width yourself, it also works for a one-off vinyl banner or a flyer proof.
When not to use it
Not suited to layouts with several text blocks, left-aligned copy or shapes placed at chosen positions, because heading, subheading, bullet points and footer all sit in one centred column in white. Long headings are not wrapped and can run past the edges. For artwork with illustrations, icons or several pictures, use a design application and give finished files to the printer.
Tips for best results
Heading size is tied to the shorter side of the canvas, so moving from landscape to square rescales the type; keep headings to a few words. A photo is cropped to fill the canvas with the gradient laid over it at 55 percent opacity, so choose a photo with calm areas behind the text. Enter the real finished width in the print box, then watch the DPI line.
Limitations
Text is always white, centred and set on one line per element. The font list holds four system faces, so the result depends on those fonts existing on your device. The PDF is a single page holding a picture, so its text is not searchable, and the finished width must be between 2 and 120 inches. Very large canvases can fail to render depending on browser memory; removing the photo often helps.
Privacy
The banner is an SVG drawn in the page, and your browser turns it into a PNG or a PDF. Heading text, background photo and logo never leave the device; the images you choose are read into memory as data inside the page. No web fonts are loaded, because the text uses fonts already installed on your computer or phone.
