Planning for Retirement
From compound growth to what you can actually expect to draw down later.
Compound growth comes first as the general concept -- what your current savings could realistically become over time -- before applying it to any specific account. A 401(k) projection is the concrete version of that same math for your actual retirement account. Social Security is a separate, additional input rather than something to fold into the 401(k) number, since it comes from an entirely different source and calculation. The FIRE number is the last, most honest step: what would it actually take to be fully financially independent, not just comfortable.
Each step opens as its own tool -- download from one, upload into the next, same as any free tool on the site.
