Use Brand Kit to grow one colour into a palette, AA/AAA contrast checks, fonts and a brand sheet ZIP with CSS and tokens.
You have a single brand colour and a name, and you need a usable set of swatches, readable text pairs, a font mood and files a developer can paste—before the first landing page ships. Brand Kit turns that one hex into a matching palette, a ten-step shade scale, contrast checks against white and black, a font pairing and a brand sheet PDF, then packs CSS variables, JSON design tokens and an SVG of the colours into one ZIP.
This guide covers one job only: pick the main colour and font mood, read the AA/AAA marks honestly, then download a kit you can keep on your device. Related helpers: Color Palette, Contrast Checker and Logo Maker. Category: design tools.
Many early brands fail because the button colour looks fine on a mockup and fails WCAG AA on real text. Brand Kit surfaces the ratio against white and black as you type, so you see Fail, AA or AAA before you ship CSS. A colour such as #2563EB that reads well on white for large type may still fail 4.5:1 for normal body text—the usual minimum for AA normal text is 4.5:1, and AAA asks for 7:1. The tool does not invent a logo, choose a trademark-safe colour for you, or check colour-blind safety or CMYK print matching. It does give you a consistent shade ladder (50 through 900), suggested open-licence Google Fonts families for the mood you pick, and files you can archive with Back up so the tab can close without losing the project.
Maya runs a mail-order tea club from Austin, TX. Brand name: Leaf & Line. Main colour: #2F6F4E (deep leaf green). Font mood: clean sans. She types the name, pastes the hex, checks the swatches and the white-text contrast row. The mid greens pass large-text AA but fail normal-text AA on white, so she uses darker steps (700–900) for body text and lighter steps (50–200) for backgrounds. She downloads the ZIP: brand sheet PDF, CSS variables, JSON tokens and an SVG of every colour. The developer pastes the CSS variables into the site theme the same afternoon. Nothing is stored by FreeDailyPro; the kit is built in the browser and erased when the tab closes unless she uses Back up / Restore on her own device.
Brand Kit is one of FreeDailyPro’s 300+ professional tools, premium applications and workflow products. Suggested fonts are open-licence Google Fonts families; check the licence page for commercial use. The ZIP holds a brand sheet PDF, CSS colour and font variables, JSON design tokens and an SVG of the colours. It does not check colour-blind safety, print CMYK or trademark clashes. Trial usage follows site rules where file-style downloads apply (2 trial usages, then a day pass or monthly options when relevant). Always re-read the live tool page for current wording on privacy and limits.
If marketing and product disagree on the main hex, lock one owner and regenerate the ZIP once so tokens do not fork. If you already have a full palette from Color Palette, bring the primary into Brand Kit for the shade scale and contrast sheet rather than rebuilding by hand. For accessibility reviews, keep a screenshot of the contrast table with the ZIP so auditors see the same numbers you shipped.
Confirm every text-and-background pair you plan to use shows AA or better on the table. Confirm the brand name spelling on the PDF. Confirm the CSS variable names match what the codebase expects, or rename them once in a controlled commit. Hand-edited token files that drift from the ZIP become two truths—regenerate from Brand Kit after any colour change instead of editing only one file.
Agree naming: --color-brand-600 versus $brand-600. Paste the CSS variables into a single theme file and commit them with the brand sheet PDF in the same pull request so design and engineering share one source. When marketing later changes the hex, regenerate the ZIP and replace the theme file entirely rather than editing one shade by hand.
When the palette, contrast marks and tokens agree, you can ship a first page without guessing button colours in a late Slack thread. Open Brand Kit, type the name and hex, and download the ZIP you will actually archive with the launch checklist.
